Under 8s day

Friday, September 7th was a very busy day for the Prep/1 and 2/3 classes, with 41 students attending Under 8s Day. Miss Fitzpatrick was the announcer and she did a fantastic job. We also had help from some fantastic parents, who looked after groups of 4 or 5 students. There were lots of activities to keep the children interested.  Some of the main attractions were the face painting, animal farm and goop play.  There was a chance for them to show off their musical talent by making and playing instruments.  They could make windmills and do some painting, or create things out of playdough. For those children who wanted some exercise, there was the parachute and also bubble blowing. And who could resist trying out the fire engine, ambulance, police car or SES truck? And if it all got to be too much, there was always the mobile library, where children could sit quietly and listen to a story. There was also a dance performance which included two students from Grantham. Our Grantham stall always had plenty of customers lined up to buy the beautiful looking cupcakes and icy cold drinks.  Everyone agreed they had a great day and those who will still be under 8 next year are already looking forward to the next one.  A big thank you to all parents who helped make the day possible by looking after students, helping with cooking and manning the stall.
