Grantham State School is a Prep to Year 6 school located in the heart of the Lockyer Valley west of Brisbane. We currently have 91 students enrolled in 5 multi-age classes.
Students are nurtured in a warm and caring environment. The school is small enough to retain a family atmosphere, where everyone is known by name, but big enough to offer a broad range of experiences to all students.
The school was opened in 1905 and the main building dates from 1912. Over the years this building has been extended and other buildings have been added to the site. Every building is air-conditioned, including the new library opened in late 2011.
Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard, which greatly enhance student learning. All students have access to computers in their rooms, with additional laptops for use by Year 5/6 students.
There is an active Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) which meets monthly to address current issues and to provide financial support for school resources.
The school also has a Chaplaincy program. The chaplain works with students to build positive relationships with their peers, and is available should students need someone to talk to.
